    Are you too impatient to meditate? Read this. 😏 Early this morning, I sat down on my bed to meditate for my usual 20 minutes. In the chaos of the holidays and new year celebrations, I had lead myself astray from my morning ritual for a few days, and this led to an immediate feeling of impatience from the moment I hit that timer for 20 minutes. You see, the usual reaction from the conditioned human mind would be to sit there in impatience, watching the clock and wanting to get up and do something “productive”. However, what I’ve learnt overtime is that if you use this moment of impatience (which is a low vibration state) as an opportunity for presence and awareness, it will prove a powerful tool for becoming more present, self aware and grounded. I focused all my attention and awareness on my feelings of impatience, I physically felt it in my chest. And the more I focused, the less apparent it became. I then went into a state of clear alertness and awareness, I heard nothing from my mind but I could feel everything. I felt the fabric of my clothes against my skin, the weight of my hands on my lap, the subtle breeze from my window, and I could hear people from the distance and the birds singing outside. This state of presence put a smile on my face as I was feeling nothing but stillness and peace. Lesson learnt: Do not try and avoid thoughts and emotions, shine the light of awareness on them and watch them dissolve. ✨ Bonus thought: Deep breathing also helps dramatically. 10 deep breaths at a time if you get distracted by thoughts. 🙏 #Meditation #Meditate #PresentEnergy #Mindfulness #MorningRitual
