Ahhh, Churizo breakfast burritos, and a sparkling Spring morning.
The Trail we hiked today laid next to a ranch that housed Ken Kesey, while he wrote the great American Pacific Northwest novel, "Sometimes a Great Notion." He told the story of the Stamper family, the iconic, hard-slinging band of gyppo loggers, as they fought for their livelihood along Oregon's Central Coast range.
The Filmed version of events starred Paul Newman and was shot in and around Lincoln City, Newport and on the Siletz River. Joe Ben Stamper got rolled by a log that washed up in Yaquina Bay.
My boys also had many great notions today... like, creating an encyclopedia of inappropriate sounds that can be made on the walkie talkies. 🤓😆🌲🌲🌊 #springbreak #nevergiveaninch #loggers #PNW #flipagram #churizo #burrito #kidhikes #nature #kenkesey #mydadwasalogger #oregoncoast #costexplorer #liveloveoregon
