You want to see people as extremes. Bad or good, trustworthy or not. I understand. It's easier that way. But that isn't how people work.
- Veronica Roth, Carve the Mark
What a day! I survived my first Yallfest. It’s a hectic, busy day filled with free advanced reader copies, lots and lots of queues, sun, panels, and more queues. I got there early, but not as early as my Yallwest guru @waitlisted.at.hogwarts, who had the thing locked down! I am not worthy.
I decided against trying for Leigh Bardugo’s Wonder Woman ARC because I was going to a panel at about getting published. An agent I follow on twitter was moderating and I got all sorts of interesting information! In fact, I’m so ready to finish and start querying. Only four weeks to go!
But now for the important part: Day 29, April: #grimdragon - I regret nothing. The end. A time you were in the minority regarding a book. Say what? You have an unpopular opinion about a Roth book? Um, I do. You’ve heard me say before that I love her ending of Allegiant. Most people don’t. And I’m putting it out there right now that I really liked Carve the Mark. Despite all the controversy (of which is all rubbish - my opinion, remember?) I really enjoyed this book. I am looking forward to its sequel! *
Ha! I made my #unpopularopinion something positive. Maybe it was all those good YA vibes I got today. People of all ages lining up for books and signings! Warms my cold, hollow heart.
And now. A bath.
