Aright guys, value find! I went to Costco last week a picked up a 2011 Brunnello di Montalcino from San Polo from Costco. It was $39.99. I did some online research and these go as high as 60 dollars! I think they're trying to get rid of their inventory to place in newer things. This is pretty awesome. I'm gonna pick another one up if there is still more.
Notes:. I'm picking up a lot of cherry, and and candied twizzlers. Medium full body, clear, brown tinge that is typical of 5 year aging. Medium+ tanins. Medium+ alcohol. Riped fruit, plum. Some leather. Total crowd pleaser. Value find! Though I still find 2010 to be be way more powerful on the nose, pallete confirms the nose, but nose has slight floral and cacao notes.
Anyone have another tasting notes they want to compare on this?
P.S. Had some meatloaf and awesome green beans with this. Recipes courtesy of @brownsugarkitchen #eastbay #oakland #bayarea
